When it comes to eating at home, I have a certain affinity for leftovers.
There’s something comforting about eating food that I ate only a few days ago. I know what it’ll taste like, only a bit crunchier or soggier or blander. I get the satisfaction of clearing out room in our fridge. And, it’s completely free.
The amount of work I have to do to prepare leftovers for consumption is the simple push of a microwave button.
And I know that I’ll like leftovers, because it’s what I originally ordered at a restaurant not too long ago. My tastes certainly haven’t changed since then, and if I hadn’t enjoyed my meal, I would have simply not brought the remaining food home.
In summary, leftovers are winners in my book, even if they don’t get eaten the first time around.
I like leftovers too! For all the reasons you mentioned.
