Day 276: seattle summary

Monorail, experience music project, science fiction museum and hall of fame, magic dragon Chinese food, space needle, attack of the pugets, nordstrom, gamestop, gap, root beer party, what time is it? Miss state!, salmonfest, loud mustacioed man, collosal tin roof sundae, doner-oake?, carousel slideshow, more cake.

Day 274: i bought another xbox

…because it was net $100 on Amazon and, after some network finagling, we’ll be able to use it as an extender in the bedroom, where we can watch streaming Netflix or recorded DVR programs.

I know, I know, two?  Really?  It was easier to convince ourselves that this wasn’t a silly idea if we think of the machine in the bedroom as more of a DVR extender/internet streaming computer than another game console.  Lord knows we have enough game consoles under this roof already.

Also, we’re flying to Seattle tomorrow to celebrate the birthdays of Katie’s siblings using part of our Day in the Cloud reward pack.  I’ll even take along our prize netbook to use some free in-flight wifi.

We may have some free time in Seattle (or we may not), so if you’re a Seattlite (Seattlean?  Seattler?) and really want to see us, drop me an email or tweet or Facebook message and I’ll see what our plans are once we get up there.  We’ll only be there until Sunday afternoon, so it’s a pretty short trip.

Day 154: tarred

Despite having just come back from a four-day vacation, I’m still pretty tired.

There are several things I should do tonight that I have consciously decided to delay until the morning.

One is scooping the litter box.  The other is clipping my fingernails.

On second thought, I really should get to that litter box tonight.

What I’d really like is some that ice cream I didn’t finish this past weekend.  But it is still in the house near Yosemite!  Alas.

Day 153: yosemite recap with pictures

Mainly pictures because I spent a lot of time in the car today and I’m quite tired.

Let’s start off with a grand view of the Bridalveil waterfall, including my mom looking quite startled that a giant tourist is staring down at her!  We escaped before the guy ate anyone.

Here’s my dad posing in front of the lower Yosemite falls with his new friend!  He swore that he didn’t even know she was there, but I’m pretty sure my parents secretly adopted her.

Check out all that granite!  I hope you’re impressed, because this mod squad certainly isn’t.

Here’s my mom again, claiming the meadow in the name of the Dai family!

Here’s us at the fallen tunnel tree, also known as Disappointment Point.  We look happy, but we’re not.  We’re angry at the tree.

My mom and Katie standing around on top of Glacier Point.  My mom has realized that a picture is being taken but Katie hasn’t quite gotten there yet.  She’s admiring my fine body, out of the picture to the right.  Or some European guy.

And let’s close it out with this spectacular picture of my dad, who is so ecstatic about our trip that he broke out into spontaneous song!

For future reference, my two favorite spots in the park were definitely Glacier Point (and a few of the outlooks leading up there) and Lake Tewana.  One national park down, 387 to go!
