Day 251: cheesy blasters

You take a hot dog, stuff it with some jack cheese, fold it in a pizza…you got cheesy blasters!

Am I the only one that wants to attempt to film some kind of hybrid live-action/animated version of the commercial for cheesy blasters that was described on 30 Rock this past week?

I’ll take on the task of filming the live-action portion and editing the things together (both video and sound) if someone else is willing to draw meat cat and potentially find some children to be in it.

Man, I could go for a cheesy blaster.

Day 248: pumpkin’d

Katie and I woke up at about 6 AM this morning in the quest for pumpkin pancakes.

You see, the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival was today and the festival kicks off with a pancake breakfast that starts at 7 AM.  The festival itself doesn’t even open until 9, but as there’s only three routes into Half Moon Bay, all the roads are entirely clogged by 8 AM or so.

We made it down to Half Moon Bay before the traffic hit and were able to indulge in some delicious pancakes.  We then spent most of the rest of the day walking around, admiring the expensive homemade crafts, watching a juggling unicycle show (that I participated in!), watching a lame parade, meeting up with some friends, eating a sausage sandwich, sitting in a gazebo, eating pumpkin ice cream, seeing a future Mike Yin, going to a haunted house, leaving the festival, eating hummus, and collapsing at home.

It’s been a very long day, and it’s not even 9 PM yet.

But we conquered today.  We did everything we set out to do, and even a bit more.  We went big.  And then, we went home.

Day 242: more yogurt talk

OK, it’s official.

I’m starting to think I’m actually a bit obsessed with yogurt by weight places. Katie and I went to another newly opened location near our place.

There’s a somewhat deviant pleasure in comparing these different places. After today’s yogurt excursion (or, as I lovingly call them, yocursions), I started to even consider making some kind of yogurt locator/comparison website.

Would it be useful? Probably not, but I think it might be a fun side project. I could get used to eating yogurt with custom toppings every day.

Day 241: the secret to going pro at a yogurt by weight place

Layers.

Some froyo.

Some toppings.

More froyo.

More toppings.

Voila!  You’ve just become the envy of every other yogurt-eater in the place.  Also, it means you don’t run into the disappointing situation where you manage to eat all of your toppings but still have a large portion of froyo left to ingest.

Also, speaking of disappointing, I’ve played about 3 hours of the new DS Kingdom Hearts game this weekend and I have yet to see a single Disney character.

Lastly, here’s another secret: Katie’s jeans now have an elastic section around the top of them!
