Day 193: waffles

We made waffles with fresh fruit tonight for a group of friends, and I think they were delicious.

I bought Katie a waffle iron for her birthday several years ago and we don’t use it all that often, but when we do, it’s totally worth it.

Other than that, I felt pretty unproductive today. I played a bunch of Mafia Wars on Facebook today, which was really out of boredom more than anything else.

Another week approaches! We head up to Portland this upcoming Friday for a wedding in Portland, but it also means we’ll get to drop in on Katie’s parents.

Also, Professor Layton releases tomorrow (truly, in a mere 15 minutes)! The excitement is barely containable!

Day 188: the schwan man

Tomorrow is an exciting day.

Tomorrow, the Schwan man comes.

Has anyone ever had the Schwan man visit their house, bearing lovely frozen dinners and ice cream treats?  Katie’s family experienced this joy when she was young and we’ve decided to try it out ourselves.

The best part is that we can then place future orders online, after which a man will magically appear at our house on Wednesday evenings, as if he had taken our wish list and gone grocery shopping for us.

Katie also said that the Schwan people, when they visited during her childhood, would wear little temporary booties to prevent their shoes from dirtying the floor of your house.  We’ll see if that bit of charm is still part of their routine.

Day 172: so much done

I did a lot today.

I ate a delightful German lunch in Alameda, visited a board game and video game store, defeated a titanic ant, beat up five policemen, and doomed the human race to a deadly pandemic.

I could use a nap. And some ice cream.

Day 163: ice cream social

Tonight, I participated in an ice cream social that was not engineered by any type of company or school as part of an icebreaker, but rather as an activity at someone’s home.

It was quite enjoyable and I got to bring home some partial brownies, to keep forever as a memory.  Or at least, until I eat them tomorrow.

Also, Beethoven’s 2nd is a terrible video game.
