{"id":553,"date":"2009-10-17T20:03:23","date_gmt":"2009-10-18T04:03:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scott-n-katie.com\/blog\/?p=553"},"modified":"2009-10-17T20:03:23","modified_gmt":"2009-10-18T04:03:23","slug":"day-248-pumpkind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.scott-n-katie.com\/blog\/?p=553","title":{"rendered":"Day 248: pumpkin&rsquo;d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Katie and I woke up at about 6 AM this morning in the quest for pumpkin pancakes.<\/p>\n<p>You see, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miramarevents.com\/pumpkinfest\/\" target=\"_blank\">Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival<\/a> was today and the festival kicks off with a pancake breakfast that starts at 7 AM.&#160; The festival itself doesn\u2019t even open until 9, but as there\u2019s only three routes into Half Moon Bay, all the roads are entirely clogged by 8 AM or so.<\/p>\n<p>We made it down to Half Moon Bay before the traffic hit and were able to indulge in some delicious pancakes.&#160; We then spent most of the rest of the day walking around, admiring the expensive homemade crafts, watching a juggling unicycle show (that I participated in!), watching a lame parade, meeting up with some friends, eating a sausage sandwich, sitting in a gazebo, eating pumpkin ice cream, seeing a future Mike Yin, going to a haunted house, leaving the festival, eating hummus, and collapsing at home.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a very long day, and it\u2019s not even 9 PM yet.<\/p>\n<p>But we conquered today.&#160; We did everything we set out to do, and even a bit more.&#160; We went big.&#160; And then, we went home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Katie and I woke up at about 6 AM this morning in the quest for pumpkin pancakes.
