I&#8217;d actually heard about it a few years ago, but the article I read yesterday reminded me of it.<\/p>\n<p>The basic idea is that instead of getting all your sleep at night, you take 4 or 5 naps throughout the day. The deprivation of a full chunk of sleep tricks your brain into entering REM sleep more quickly and you get all the rest you need in a combined total of only two hours each day.<\/p>\n<p>I thought about possibly pursuing a less drastic cycle with a core sleeping chunk at night, but only for 4 hours or so with two naps scattered through the day.  It&#8217;s a heavy undertaking though, with warnings about feeling a bit out of it for a week or so.
