I\u2019m not old enough to really have nostalgia about drive-in movie theaters, but I remember going to one double-feature back at a drive-in near Pittsburgh and it ended up being a rather affordable and charming way to take in a movie.<\/p>\n
We watched Superman Returns and Poseidon. Neither was a terribly gripping movie, but Katie and I could eat food and chat if we wanted to, without worrying about disturbing our neighbors.<\/p>\n
Out here, our nearest drive-in is a half hour drive (about what the Pittsburgh drive-in was), but we haven\u2019t gone yet. I\u2019d like to sometime. There\u2019s something about the experience that can\u2019t be captured with any other activity. It\u2019s a shame that drive-ins are so rare and so far away for most people.<\/p>\n
Also, both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died today. As I mentioned a few days ago, I didn\u2019t listen to too much music in my youth, but this still feels important.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll see if I can play a Jackson song in Rock Band or Karaoke Revolution tonight, in remembrance of the King of Pop.<\/p>\n
And I\u2019ll watch some episodes of Charlie\u2019s Angels. Or The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars, where Farrah voiced a Faucet. True story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
